Nominations
Eligibility requirements
To be eligible for nomination, the nominee must
- be living;
- be a native or current Texas resident;
- have performed her service or achievement here in Texas;
- have been active within her respective category within the past 12 months; and
- have made contributions that are of enduring importance and that represent a lifetime of achievement.
Past nominees are eligible, and nominations may be resubmitted. Self-nominations are also accepted.
The process
- At the beginning of every even-numbered year (the next will be in 2008 - see schedule, below), Governor Rick Perry distributes nomination forms and calls for nominees for the Texas Women's Hall of Fame.
- Eligible women are nominated by Texas residents.
- An independent panel of judges reviews all nominations and selects the new inductees.
- All nominees and nominators are notified of the panel's decision.
- The new members of the Texas Women's Hall of Fame are inducted at an award ceremony.

Nomination form
Nomination forms for the 2008 Texas Women's Hall of Fame will be available in October. If you want to be put on a mailing list for nomination forms once they become available, then please submit your name and physical mailing address to women@governor.state.tx.us, and insert "Nominations" in the subject line.
