Statement of Gov. Rick Perry on Status of Negotiations on House Bills 2 and 3

AUSTIN - Gov. Rick Perry today issued the following statement regarding negotiations on the education reform and property tax relief bills:

"The tax reform and school reform bills being negotiated by legislators are of critical importance, and as I stated earlier to reporters, we are all in this together. I'm not interested in assigning credit or blame, but getting a good result for taxpayers and schoolchildren. Leaders from both legislative bodies have put forward strong proposals, and even at this late hour I urge them to come to an agreement for the good of Texas."
