Statement Of Gov. Rick Perry Regarding Adoption Of Trans Texas Corridor Action Plan

“The Texas Transportation Commission today has taken a significant step toward making the Trans Texas Corridor a reality. When I laid out the corridor concept earlier this year, I asked the commission to look at new ways of planning and building to address the problems we now face on congested roads and highways.

“The action plan that’s been developed confirms that while large in scope and vision, the Trans Texas Corridor is feasible and necessary for the future of our state. From the family traveling across town to the trucker moving goods across the state, today’s action is good news and provides a clear signal that we are moving toward making our roads safer, more efficient and better prepared to handle a growing population.”
