Gov. Perry Names Vidaurri Presiding Officer of Texas Board of Architectural Examiners

Also Appoints Anastos and Pinson as Members

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry named Alfred Vidaurri Jr. of Aledo as presiding officer of the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners for a term to expire at the pleasure of the governor. He also appointed Chuck Anastos of Corpus Christi and Brandon Pinson of Midland to the board which regulates the practice of architecture, landscape architecture and interior design throughout the state.

Viadurri is principal of Freese and Nichols. He is a member of the National American Institute of Architects, Texas Society of Architects, American Planning Association and the Society for College and University Planning. He is a board member of the Texas Health Research Institute, past chairman of the Fairmont Historical and Cultural District and past member of the Fort Worth Mid-Southside Revitalization Plan. Viadurri received a bachelor’s and master’s degree in architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington. He replaces Gordon Landreth of Corpus Christi as presiding officer.

Anastos is president and co-owner of Chuck Anastos Associates. He is past president of the Corpus Christi chapter of the American Institute of Architects and member of the Texas Society of Architects. Additionally, he is a past member of the Corpus Christi Mayor’s Task Force on Housing and the Corpus Christi Building Inspection Task Force. Anastos received a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University. He is being reappointed for a term to expire Jan. 31, 2013.

Pinson is a practicing attorney and president of the Law Office of Brandon W. Pinson P.C. He is a member of the Midland County Bar Association and the Midland County Young Lawyers Association. He is also past president of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Midland. Pinson received a bachelor’s degree from Angelo State University and a law degree from Texas Tech University. He replaces Janet Parnell of Canadian for a term to expire Jan. 31, 2010.
