Gov. Perry Appoints Saunders to Oil Field Cleanup Fund Advisory Committee

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry appointed Douglas Saunders of Amarillo to the Oil Field Cleanup Fund Advisory Committee for a term to expire at the pleasure of the governor. The fund is managed by the Texas Railroad Commission and helps plug abandoned oil wells and clean up oil fields.

Saunders is owner and operator of Douglas Saunders Co. He is a board member of the Bushland Cooperative, and member of the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association and Texas Cattle Feeders Association.

Saunders received an associate’s degree from Amarillo College. He replaces John Siebert Miller of Amarillo.
