Gov. Perry Appoints Escudero to State Securities Board
AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry has announced the appointment of Edward Escudero of El Paso to the State Securities Board. The board protects investors by enforcing Texas securities laws to ensure a free and competitive securities market. His term is set to expire Jan. 20, 2011.
Escudero is the treasurer and chief financial officer of Petro Stopping Centers, where he is responsible for all accounting, planning, information systems, internal audit and human resource functions. He serves as chairman of the advisory board of the accounting department at the University of Texas at El Paso, as chairman of the fiscal committee at the YMCA and on the board of directors of the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Escudero earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas at El Paso.
This appointment is subject to senate confirmation.
