Gov. Perry Announces Appointment of Bingham As Criminal District Attorney of Smith County

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today announced the appointment of Dillion Bingham III of Tyler as Criminal District Attorney of Smith County.

Bingham currently serves as the Acting Criminal District Attorney for the Smith County District Attorney’s Office. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the American and Smith County Bar Associations. He serves on the Texas District and County Attorneys Association and is a member of the Peace Officers Association.

Bingham received his bachelor’s degree from Baylor University and his law degree from the University of Tulsa. His term will run until the next general election, when he can opt to run for a full term.
