Gov. Perry Reappoints Miller To Emancipation Juneteenth Cultural and Historical Commission

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today announced the reappointment Byron Miller of San Antonio to the Texas Emancipation Juneteenth Cultural and Historical Commission which is working to develop and build an emancipation memorial on the Capitol grounds.

Miller is an insurance broker and the president of Miller-Lucek. He is a scoutmaster with the Boys Scouts of America and a member of the San Antonio Business Development Fund and the Optimist Club. Miller is a graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta. His term expires Feb. 1, 2009.

This appointment is subject to senate approval.
