Gov. Perry Appoints Zinsser To State Board for Educator Certification

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today announced the appointment of Judie Zinsser of Houston to the State Board for Educator Certification. The board develops certification and continuing education requirements and standards of conduct for public school teachers.

Zinsser is a teacher at Sharpstown High School. She is a steward for the Houston Federation of Teachers, a past sponsor for Future Teachers and serves as a mentor for the New Teacher Mentor Program. Zinsser received a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. Her term will expire Feb. 1, 2007.

This appointment is subject to senate approval.
