Gov. Perry Appoints Four To On-Site Wastewater Treatment Research Council

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today announced the appointment of four individuals to the On-Site Wastewater Treatment Research Council for terms ending Sept. 1, 2004. The council funds research, technology transfer and demonstration projects relating to on-site wastewater facilities.

Barry D. Bedwell of Amarillo is being reappointed to the research council. He is vice president of Bedwell Construction and Interiors where he schedules and supervises operations of the company. He is also president of Bedwell Real Estate. A licensed real estate broker, Bedwell serves as president of the Texas Panhandle Builders Association and is a member of the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce. He received his bachelor’s degree from Howard Payne University in Brownwood.

John R. Blount of Houston is being reappointed to the research council. He is manager of the Permit Division of the Harris County Engineering Department where his responsibilities include permitting, inspecting and regulating Harris County’s on-site wastewater rules. He is a member of the Baylor University On-site Wastewater Advisory Committee and the Texas On-site Wastewater Association. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston.

Charles Montel Rutledge of College Station, a partner and customer service representative manager at Brazos Valley Septic, is being reappointed to the council. He is a member of the Texas On-Site Wastewater Association and the National On-Site Wastewater Recycling Association. He received his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University.

Timothy N. Taylor of Nacogdoches is an on-site wastewater treatments specialist at Consolidated Treatments Systems, Inc. He is a member of the Texas Environmental Health Association, the Texas On-site Wastewater Association and the National On-Site Wastewater Recycling Association. He received his bachelor’s degree from Steven F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches.

These appointments are subject to Senate confirmation.
