Lee College is a fully accredited community
college offering both an Associate of Arts in Music and a transfer-track curriculum
in music. With emphasis in jazz studies as well as classical music, the College
features a variety of ensembles. Facilities include auditoriums, a digital piano
lab, and a 16-track recording studio. Classes in recording techniques are also
available. Unique to Lee College is a weekly performance/lecture seminar to acquaint
students with various professions in music, to enjoy guest artists in recital,
and to hear lectures on various important music-related topics not covered in
the curriculum. Performance opportunities include the Jazz Ensemble, Concert Band
and Baytown Symphony Orchestra--contact David Corder, 281-425-6350; Concert Choir
(30 members) and Madrigal Singers (12 members), both under the direction of Dr.
Edward Garcia-Novelli, 281-425-6351. Performance facilities include Rundell Auditorium
(400 seats; Ms. Muckleroy, 281-425-6320) and Cobb Auditorium (80 seats; Ms. Angles,
281-425-6821).
