KCAS (91.5 FM) programs beautiful music with a beautiful message 24 hours a day. KCAS's music is spiritual and uplifting, yet easy to listen to day and night. Our core artists include Ron Hamilton, Hymnworks, The Wilds, Majesty Strings, George Beverly Shea, Gethsemane, Pensacola Christian College and many other traditional Christian, easy listening artists. It has proven to be a very popular format in South Texas. Much of the music on KCAS was obtained by the "cleaning up" of old record albums through computer techniques. At present, KCAS has several thousand dollars invested in a state-of-the-art computer system that removes pops, clicks, and hiss from records using the DART (Digital Audio Restoration Technologies) software. In the past, the amount of music available on KCAS has been limited due to the cost of computer storage. �This has become less of a problem in recent years as this cost has dropped significantly, allowing KCAS to expand from a selection of only six or seven hundred songs to an expected selection of over twenty-five hundred songs. KCAS has also invested in a backup and archival system that will allow our music selection to grow indefinately as more music becomes available. We broadcast local music and programs each day from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM. �After 11:00 PM, we switch to the VCY America Network for most of our night-time programming.
