Moving Image Industry Incentive Program - Underused Areas

An underused area is any area of Texas outside a 30-mile radius from Austin City Hall or Dallas City Hall. Underused areas include Houston, San Antonio, El Paso, or any other urban, suburban or rural area more than 30 miles from Austin or Dallas.

Projects that complete at least 25% of production days in an underused area may increase their incentive payment from 5% of their total Texas spending to 6.25% of total Texas spending. The additional 1.25% applies to all of the project's spending in Texas, not just the spending in the underused area.
