El Paso hosted the statewide employment awards on October 25 at the Centennial Club at Biggs Army Air Field. Cheryl Fuller, Director of Texas Workforce Investment Council in the Office of the Governor, presented the awards.

Thomas Baird provided remarks after receiving The Entrepreneurship Award. He serves as founding Owner, President and Director of the law firm Baird, Crews, Schiller & Whitaker, P.C. in Temple.

Fort Bliss Garrison Commander Colonel Robert T. Burns accepts the Large Federal Employer of the Year Award of behalf of Fort Bliss and the Fort Bliss Commanding General Robert P. Lennox.

Paul S. Luther, Market Manager, IBM Human Ability and Accessibility Center, and Robert Amezcua, VP Operations Power Systems, IBM Systems & Technology Group, accept the Large Employer of the Year Award on behalf of IBM, Austin.

Nancy Crowther and Curtis Voelkel accept the Martha Arbuckle Award on behalf of the Austin Mayor's Committee for People with Disabilities. Curtis Voelkel chairs the Employment Subcommittee.

David Ondich, the Disability Program Coordinator for the City of Fort Worth, holds the Medium Employer of the Year Award.
