Texas Health Care System Integrity Partnership
On October 9, 2006, Governor Perry established the Texas Health Care System Integrity Partnership through Executive Order RP61 to develop the governance and finance structure for a new public-private collaborative to promote a safe, high-quality, transparent, and efficient health care system by:
- Enabling the secure, electronic exchange of health information;
- Providing consumers with access to information on the price and quality of health care goods and services, and health insurance products; and
- Fostering a robust and competitive small-employer health insurance market.
The Partnership was composed of 19 members – 15 members representing business, consumers, clinical laboratories, health plans, pharmacies, the pharmaceutical industry, pharmacy benefit managers, and physicians, and four ex-officio/non-voting members representing the Attorney General of Texas, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, the Texas Department of State Health Services, and the Texas Department of Insurance.
The Partnership issued its final report to Governor Perry on March 1, 2007.
