  • Making Cancer History


    Gov. Perry joined leaders in the fight against cancer to announce another initiative in our ongoing battle against the disease, which brings a noted research team from Harvard to work at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

  • Tops in Business


    The Lone Star State earned the top spots in a pair of recent economic development surveys asking business leaders to name the best business climate in the country. The state’s economic development organization was also named “Best in Class” by one of the surveys.

  • Texas Responds


    In the midst of one of the most devastating wildfire seasons in Texas history, the state has deployed resources across the state to fight fires and assist those displaced by the flames. Gov. Perry continues to urge all Texans to heed all warnings and cease all outdoor activities that can result in fires.

Rick Perry today announced that the Governor's Criminal Justice Division (CJD) is providing additional funding for Texas Crime Stoppers and the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) to increase rewards for the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders program to $2,000, with some rewards reaching up to $5,000.

    Gov. Perry Announces TEF Investment to the Advisory Board Company
    Gov. Rick Perry has announced the state is investing $500,000 through the Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) in The Advisory Board Company, which will create more than 200 jobs with an average salary of $90,000, and invest $8.1 million in capital expenditures to expand services provided by its Austin-based Crimson division.
